PBS KIDS Feature Graphics

Feature graphics typically combine a logo, character(s), and a background. As part of the PBS KIDS redesign project, the design team explored whether a flexible design system could generate various graphic layouts directly within a content management system. Together with Cassie Le, I developed a design system and templates that demonstrated this approach was feasible. The project highlighted two important insights: first, simplicity is challenging, requiring a focus on core design fundamentals and careful attention to errors; second, not every promising idea translates into a successful product. Although the project has launched, it also marked my initial exploration into incorporating automation into the design process.
