This project was one of those rare occasions where saying “yes” is always the correct answer. “You own an airbrush, right?” That answer led to my only non-PBS KIDS project in 17 years.
My directive was to take a preexisting VR headset and design it to match the tech worn in the 1960s moon landing. As a part of this assignment, I had to create two physical prototypes. To see that check out the process gallery below.
PBS accepted the final product, put it into production, and delivered it with a set of custom mission stickers, two of which I illustrated.
