In 2021, PBS KIDS, in partnership with PRX (Public Radio Exchange) and CPB (Corporation for Public Broadcasting), launched the Ready To Learn Podcast Accelerator to expand educational podcasting for children ages 2 to 8. The initiative focused on supporting existing podcasts and funding the creation of new ones. At the time, PBS KIDS did not have a stand-alone podcast player. To address this, I designed a user-friendly player modeled on the PBS KIDS video player, incorporating standard podcast features and navigation. The design also included customization options, allowing show producers to theme their players to match each podcast’s branding.
