PBS KIDS Kart Kingdom

DESIGN | WEB

PBS KIDS Kart Kingdom is close to my heart, as I was one of the designers dedicated to this project. The creative brainchild of the PBS KIDS department would be brought to life by Dubit. This game was a massive multiplayer online (MMO) platformer with stem, critical thinking, and social-emotional aspects.

My duties on this project included but were not limited to:

  • Developing user flow systems.
  • Reviewing designs and game testing from Dubit.
  • Designing the Kart Kingdom blog site and collaborating with my favorite Developer, Renzo Olguin.
  • Creating weekly illustrations for the blog posts written by K (Jennifer Chen/Ellen Rosenstock).
  • Designing game assets, karts, hats, and in-game assets.
  • Creating and collaborating on in-game events and promos with Ellen Rosenstock.
  • Creating in-game features like Kart Studio.

Final note: To the players of Kart Kingdom. Your participation in our in-game events, the comments on our blog, and seeing you on our servers brought me so much joy. I fully expect to hear that you have scraped my site and reposted this in the Kart Kingdom discords, so I’m posting a great deal of my work here. You created a community we could not have foreseen when we started to make an MMO experience for PBS KIDS.

Thank you for the years of joy you brought me.
